In choosing new constitutions, the societies of the Middle East are confronted with very practical problems. It is the purpose of the conference to show that economists have something to say on real world constitutional choices. We therefore encourage paper submissions that deal with concrete aspects of the constitutional choices in the Middle East. This includes the application of standard topics, such as the choice between presidential and parliamentary systems.
